Workshop: Acrylic Painting- Sweet Pea Floral

November 20 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm CST

Come in to paint on a Sunday afternoon and create in this fun, acrylic workshop.

Our Art in the Garden Series continues with acrylics.

NHG is proud to welcome back professional artist and popular teacher Melanie Brannan, whose new series of acrylic workshops feature a different inspirational piece of art that you’ll reproduce. In this series, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about new colors and techniques in each class. Purchase a glass of wine in our next-door Cafe, sit down, and create with us in this fun workshop!

This time, Melanie will lead you through each step as we paint beautiful, flowering sweet peas with Golden brand Acrylics and Soft Gel Gloss. We will use color shapers and brushes on a 16 x 20 canvas to create a gorgeous base, then we’ll detail the blossoms on top. This beautiful, floral painting is a great opportunity to learn more about working with color theory and contrast.

$85. All supplies are included. All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to advanced. In order to have the best in one-on-one instruction, our workshop is limited to 21 attendees. Please arrive by 1:00pm, so you can purchase your wine and snacks in our cafe and get seated. The class begins promptly at 1:30pm.

Watch for additional Art in the Garden Workshops, coming soon to NHG!

Melanie Montgomery Brannan lives in her paintings, moving around and getting lost in a serene place. With her creative talent, she captures emotions on canvas as her paintings evolve through her own personal perspective. Influenced by light, clouds and reflections, she uses layers upon layers to create a great deal of depth and movement. Colors and perception beautifully touch her work. Melanie paints with her heart as much as her brush. Her favorite style of art is impressionism, with Cezanne and Van Gogh among her favorite artists. Her paintings are in homes in the Texas, New Mexico, California, Alaska, Oregon, South Dakota, South Carolina, Ireland and Germany. Melanie moved to fine art and teaching after a long, prolific career in graphic design owning her own firm for 30 years.

Melanie has painted exclusively with GOLDEN Artists Colors for 10 years. In 2017, GOLDEN trained her to become a certified educator for their amazing line of paints, pastes and gels. She joined this elite group of international artists to become the Dallas educator for GOLDEN.
